Adult Advocacy

Often, the adult with a disability has limited access to his community. The adult system is encumbered with regulations and has always experienced a lack of funding. We provide advocacy for adults who are living with their families or in community living arrangements. The Arc also provides assistance at agency planning meetings. We are always vigilant regarding suspected abuse and uphold the individual’s right to self-determination.

Educational Advocacy

Education provides an additional challenge for children and youth with disabilities. Laws and regulations keep changing as well as programs and services. Some issues we deal with are: IEP’s, transportation, compliance matters, classroom placement, curricular adaptations, and transition.

If you would like to speak to our advocates, please call The Arc at (610) 849-8076 or email Susan at skluge@arcofl-n.org or Lucia at lbroughton@arcofl-n.org.
